Publishers Looking for Halloween Content
🎃 Got something spooky? These publishers want you!
Hello to our spooky readers (and writers). Halloween is coming up fast and publishers are on the hunt for your weird, wild, and downright creepy work. Here are some of the ops we’ve lately found. Will you risk the submission, or is it too scary? 😈
Inkd Publishing
Inkd is looking for short stories on the theme of “Phantom Dusk” for their Noncorporeal IV anthology. Submissions are open until November 30 and are free. More here.
Tales from the Moonlit Path
This horrifying Halloween Contest is open to writers until October 13th (muahahaha). They’re looking for dark, eerie, speculative stories no longer than 2,000 words. More here.
Deadstone Books
Can you craft a horrifying experience in 500 words or less? Deadstone wants to know. Their Micro Horrors series is still open for submission. If you think you can stomach the opportunity, head to their submissions page: https://www.dreadstonebooks.com/submissions
Little Key Press
Never submitted work before? Don’t be afraid… LKP is looking for first-time authors who are working on dark speculative fiction along the theme of “clocks.” This op pays a nominal honorarium and contributors receive a paper copy of the anthology. More here.
Broken Antler
Think you can make it weird? Maybe you’ve been told your writing sticks in the craw of your readers? Broken Antler probably wants to see it. They are looking for dark sci-fi or fantasy that ‘screws with their sleep cycle.’ Think you’ve got what it takes? More here.
